Thomas M. Carsey Graduate Student Symposium

November 8, 2019 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Thomas M. Carsey Graduate Student Symposium

Tom Carsey, former director of the Odum Institute and esteemed political scientist, was an advocate of graduate student research and support throughout his professional career. In collaboration with the University Libraries’ Research Hub, we will be hosting the Inaugural Thomas M. Carsey Graduate Student Symposium on Friday, November 8, in honor of his memory and as part of the Odum Institute’s 95th anniversary celebration.

Twenty-three graduate students from programs across campus will present their projects to three judges and the general public during a poster session from 4 — 5 PM. The judges will score each project individually and then compare notes after the session. The winning project will be announced at 5:45 PM.

But the judges aren’t the only ones who get a vote!

All public attendees will be given two ballots to cast for their favorite project/projects, and the winner of the popular vote will also receive a prize. So make sure to stop by and show your support!

Light refreshments will be provided.
