Python I

September 24, 2019 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Python I

This workshop will introduce attendees to the Python programming language. We’ll help you install Python 3 and the Anaconda distribution, execute your first lines of code, and explore the basic functionality of Python. This training is intended for total beginners and may be very simplistic for those with experience in other programming languages (e.g. Java or R).

Python is widely used by researchers in many disciplines, and can be used to accomplish or automate many tasks outside academia. General computer skills are required, but specialized prior knowledge in computer programming is not required.

This is a hands-on workshop. Attendees must bring a laptop to participate. The instructors will demonstrate how to install Python 3 with the Anaconda distribution and its included Spyder Integrated Development Environment (IDE) on your computers.
