Python Open Lab

This is the fifth and final open lab to help you learn the Python programming language. This session will continue with the Pandas library and introduce other packages and resources to use.

working with user-defined functions, Jupyter Notebooks, and the Pandas package Participants can join the lab any time during the session, and are welcome to work on unrelated projects. We’ll help you install Python 3 and the Anaconda distribution, execute your first lines of code, and explore the basic functionality of Python.

Python is widely used by researchers in many disciplines, and can be used to accomplish or automate many tasks outside academia. General computer skills are required, but specialized prior knowledge in computer programming is not required.

This is a hands-on workshop. Attendees must bring a laptop to participate. The instructors will demonstrate how to install Python 3 with the Anaconda distribution and its included Spyder Integrated Development Environment (IDE) on your computers. Please install Anaconda before the workshop.
