Jill Stevens is the education coordinator for the Odum Institute for Research in Social Science at UNC Chapel Hill. As the education coordinator, Jill supports the Institute’s Education Division’s short courses and summer workshop program. She also is the Program Administrator for the Certificate of Survey Science program.

Each year, the Odum Institute offers 100 short courses on a range of topics in the social and behavioral sciences. Jill coordinates the scheduling of these various courses available to not only the UNC student body, but also UNC faculty, staff, as well as those outside the Chapel Hill campus. With the ongoing pandemic, Odum has successfully transitioned most short courses to an online format that is easily accessible to a much broader audience not only to the outside of North Carolina, but across the globe. Various summer workshops the Institute is a co-sponsor of include the ICPSR program, the Qualitative Research Summer Intensive, and Data Matters. Jill takes a leading role in handling the registration for Data Matters, as well as coordinating with the ICPSR program out of the University of Michigan for the onsite workshops held here in Chapel Hill.

The Odum Institute’s Certificate in Survey Science gives graduate students and working professionals the knowledge and skills they need to design and conduct surveys & analyze and report survey results. Additionally, The Odum Institute is committed to advancing social science research through a variety of diverse education and training.

Prior to working at the Odum Institute, Jill worked at the Medical University of South Carolina as an admissions specialist for the College of Dental Medicine, Commencement Coordinator, and University Residency Officer. Jill also has an extensive background in the hospitality industry as a guest service manager and assistant manager at various hotels in the Chapel Hill, RDU, and Charleston, SC regions.
