Lauren is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Epidemiology. She has a background in cultural anthropology and global health and has conducted research in Haiti, Kenya, Uganda, Mozambique, Angola and the US. She studies the social determinants of health and health disparities, with a particular focus on HIV. Broadly, she is interested in how social and historical contexts shape disease risk and patterns of aging across the life course.
