Dr. Zimmer is an expert in quantitative social science research methodology, from design to final presentation of analytical results, at the Odum Institute for Research in Social Science and an Adjunct Professor of Sociology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC). She provides consultation to undergraduate students, graduate students, faculty and staff on choosing appropriate analytical techniques and on how to apply them.
In addition, she teaches short courses on logistic regression, structural equation modeling, Mplus, SPSS, and Stata. Prior to working at the Odum Institute, Dr. Zimmer was a tenured Associate Professor of Sociology at North Carolina State University for 15 years. She has worked extensively with researchers across disciplines, such as Anthropology, Sociology, Political Science, Psychology, Public Health, Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, City and Regional Planning, and Education, to analyze their data using the best methods available.
